Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar -> Sound settings -> scroll to the bottom -> More sound settings.

Communications tab -> select "Do nothing" -> OK. This is the important setting.

Playback tab -> right-click your headphones -> Properties -> Advanced tab -> uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

On the same Playback tab: set your headphones as the Default Device and Default Communication Device.
